I didn't find any explanations necessary. My FAVE Elvis song is The Wonder of You. And I want it for Elliott. Although Kat could kill on it too.
I would bet big bucks that Taylor does "Little Sister" Man, do I love that song!
I think I want to hear Taylor sing "Viva Las Vegas" and "All Shook Up".

Hey, what you want and what you will get are two different things. "Little Sister" done by Elvis, and then done by Steve Ray Vaughn is going to be one of his picks, I am sure - it's such a bluesy song.

I can see Chris singing "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Jailhouse Rock", Elliott trying his hand at "Love Me Tender" and "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You".
I am still trying to figure out what Katharine would sound good singing.
OMG I hadn't even thought of Little Sister. That has Taylor's name all over it.

Dwight Yoakam did it years back, and it was my dad's favorite song for the longest time. He listened to that song like a 12 year old girl listens to Britney Spears...over and over and over again.
Taylor would be the PERFECT contender for that song, and it would be great to hear it again, especially by him! Now I'm getting even more excited for this next week. I wish I could take a trip to Graceland right now and tell these kids what we all want them to sing!
P.S.~ Dave, Katharine could sing "You Don't Have to Say you Love Me". That would be great for her! But to come up with 2 choices, that's a little more difficult!
Any idea how the songs are selected at this point? Does the highest vote getter have first choice of Elvis material and the lowest one gets last pick?
I do agree, Taylor can do any Elvis song and is a lock to go to the next round. "Little Sister" is fabulous, but put him in a jean jacket and striped shirt and let 'er rip with "Jail House Rock". Put him in a gold sport coat and we have "Viva Las Vegas". Slow him down and you get "Love Me Tender". Then there is always "Burning Love". It just goes on and on for Taylor this week. Elliot could do well with several numbers. "Suspicious Minds", "It's Now or Never", "You Were Always on My Mind", all work for Elliot. Kat could work out on "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You", "Love Me Tender", "It's Now or Never", or "Are You Lonesome Tonight". Yes, that's it!!! Kat does "Are You Lonesome Tonight", flashes those incredible dark brown eyes, and every male under the age of 96 will vote for her. Chris is the challenge. For me, only "Viva Las Vegas" seems to fit his scream-on-key style.
Obviously some of you don't watch the show to often. If you did you will notice that Chris does not only SCREAM, he has had quite a few soft songs that in my opinion were beautiful, he is the one that I can actually see doing Elvis the best......
Looking forward to Elvis week, I hope Elliott sings early Elvis songs. I hope no one sings "Viva Las Vegas", if there's no Ann-Margaret, it just doesn't work. I could hear Elliot singing "It's Now or Never", actually I like to hear him sing anything. Taylor is going to have a field day next show, especially if he keeps to upbeat songs. I've been trying to think of a song for Chris..?? Maybe "In the Getto"? don't know. "Are you Lonesome Tonight" for Katherine sounds like a winner. Looking forward to other opinions.
I've been listening to some of these Elvis songs (that poor guy - I bet I totally busted his bandwidth, starting to save them now) and I think there are enough uptempo and ballads so that each of them would have a good selection to do one of each.
The first Chris song I thought of was See See Rider. But All Shook Up would work for him or for Kat. Taylor can pretty much do anything, I would think. Still working on Elliott.
Do they have to sing Elvis oringinals? I would love to hear Elliott or Kat sing "Crying in the Chapel". I know Elvis wasn't the first to do it but, he did it the best.
