they're giving back...

So say what you want. Give if you want. Skip if you want.

There will be no play-by-play commentary from me, because it's a break in the action, while we await tomorrow night's execution.

They're good causes. I hope they raise tons of money. And, more importantly, tons of awareness so that people give because they want to. Not just because they're feeling compelled to.

See you tomorrow night. 8 p.m. Sharp.

Past Idol Alert!

I think someone recently mentioned that Chris Daughtry was going to be performing for Idol gives back. Is it true?? I'll be watching to confirm that rumor!

I just saw him last night in concert (he opened for Bon Jovi). I may be biased, but Daughtry was AMAZING!! Their one-hour set featured most of the songs found on his self-titled cd, along with a new song. The musicianship is top-notch and Chris' vocals were spot-on. He's getting comfortable working the crowd...and we responded! When Bon Jovi took the stage for their 2-hour set, Chris joined them for a duet between him and Jon. They sang "Blaze of Glory" and it was so unbelievably good!! I'm so stinkin' happy for Chris!!

Jennifer, thanks for all you do on this blog. It's my favorite by far! I look forward to your comments every week. :) Keep up the good work! See you tomorrow night.

Does anyone else think Kristy looks a bit like Keira Sedgwick?

Carrie was FLAWLESS, Daughtry's song was AMAZING, and David Cook's solo on Shout to the Lord absolutely blew me away!! WOW! WOW! WOW!

One thing i learned tonight: the so-called superstars don't sing any better than the current Idols; they just have better production. Like, who could even hear Maria Carey's voice?

Exceptions: Underwood and Daughtry. They were great.

Question? doesn't Miley Cyrus (sp) have a grade school/junior high audience? Why then were some of her dance moves like those of a stripper?? All she needed was a pole!!

I LOVED the So You think You Can Dance Dancers the best!! I can't wait until that show starts back up!

Mariah and the David Cook thing must have been after 10pm. My Tivo has me on a strict schedule and switched to Top Chef at exactly 10pm sharp.

I think only 10 year olds actually think Miley Cyrus can sing. The rest of us recognize she wouldn't have gotten a ticket to Hollywood on Idol.

But I'm sure her bank doesn't care if she sings in tune or not.

I wathched IGB last evening and thought it was better than last years, but that being said, where were the Idols? Where was Kelly, Ruben, Fantasia, Taylor & Jordin? We saw Jordin in the audiance, but there should have been something that included all the former Idol winners.

I'm with you Steve, I would of loved to seen the Idols. I think it sucks that they don't have them on.

Mrs. High Lord was wondering why Miley got two songs but there was no hint of Kelly or Taylor.

I'd like to see the Idols added to the Real World/Road Rules Challenge (now that they've stopped making new seasons of Road Rules).

I'm sorry but I have never been impressed with Carrie Underwood's voice. I'm not hating on her -- she looks good and can carry a tune -- but her voice is very plain, a little screechy, and a tad nasally. But then again, those are the reasons she's such a big Country star.

I agree that all the former idols should be back (and top finishers). I just can't see Nigel, or who-ever, making peace with Taylor. They really have something against him and will not lift a finger to raise awareness of him. It's a shame cuz I really liked Taylor!

Quote of the night:

Microphone lady about Brad Pitt:

"I just needed a reason to touch him." *looks to the audience knowingly* LOL!

^That was hilarious! Definitely one of the most memorable moments of the night.

I agree about Miley's dance moves. They were a little risque for her young audience--or ANY audience, for that matter. But maybe that's just me.
