open chat time: it's the guys x 10...

Ten guys remain. Some are great. Some aren't great. Some aren't even good. Or weren't. Last week.

One more chance to make a first impression.

Because THIS is American Idol. And as long as you stay in you have a chance to, well, stay in.

And because I'll be ranting, raving and reviewing tomorrow, it's an open thread for all of us to comment, criticize and overall critique the last remaining dudes as they pathetically pander for our votes.

So have at it...

Jason C, stop banging the darned guitar! I'm waiting for the next "boom" instead of listening to the judges bag on you!

I'm lovin' me some David Hernandez. Last week he wasn't even on my radar, this week he really upped is game. Jason Yeager, time to go home. Sorry. I liked him better last week singing Moon River. I feel sorry for him for getting ripped so badly but... it is what it is. It was cheesy.

The themes are killing the singers this year.

So far, the men are stinking up the joint. Michael Johns telegraphed his performance, I thought he was sleep walking. Jason Castro's guitar was better than his singing. Ditch the guitar and concetrate on the vocals, kid....if you make it back next week. Luke Menard was singing thru his nose, must be taking vocal lessons from Barbra Streisand. He was all over the place for a guy who's supposed to sing acapella. No wonder he sings in 3rd world countries, if I had to listen to this boring guy, I'd leave screaming.Robbie Carrico at least had something upbeat, not that he sings well. Danny Noriega makes me ill, he reminds me of a cross between Sanjaya and a tape worm with legs. The judges love this guy? He shoulda been gone last week.

We were having a storm here during Idol and my DVR cut off two parts that I need to know about.

First one I missed: Simon’s comment to Michael Johns after he sang Fleetwood Mac

Second one I missed: What everyone said about David Cook’s Bad Company performance.

If anyone can let me know, I would greatly apppreciate it. Thanks!

david hernandez really stepped up to the plate and deserves to continue.

same for chickeze.

david a. is a natural born talent ala Whitney and is almost too good for this competition.

david cook also stood out.

danny was pretty good.

i love me some jason c., but i have to admit he didn't stand out tonight.

everyone else was pretty lame.

i predict jason yeager and robbie carrico will not get enough votes to stay on...

I love Jason C. and even more so tonight. I adored him tonight.

David Cook just rocks, he was great.

David A. wow what a voice.

I hope Robbie gets another week, he has promise.

Please send Danny home, I can't deal with him all season.

It should be Danny and Luke/Jason Y. going home. I hope Luke stays one more week, he is great eye candy.

In my opinion, David A was the best tonight. Jason Yeager - bye bye!

Jason Yeager looks, sings and moves like Donnie Osmond.

Luke Menard looks, sings and moves like a Ken doll in a Saturday Night Live skit.

Michael Johns is like Ace Young from season 5 - out of the gate, everybody thought he'd win because he LOOKED right, but really he wasn't ALL that.

Jason C. reminds me of (a young) Bob Dylan. (that's a good thing)

I like Danny Noriega, like Simon said he's interesting and different, and he does have a very nice voice. I'd rather he stay in that have to watch/listen to Donnie Osmond or a Ken doll...

Worst to the best..

Jason Yager - he's painful to watch
Jason Castro - forgettable performance
Luke Menard - not a good idea to say you have to be pitch perfect for acapella then bomb
Robbie Carrico - trying too hard to be rock
Danny Niriega - I love this guy tonight was good but not great
Michael Johns - not his best performance.. orginally thought he was one of the best but tonight just didn't do it for me
Chickezie Eze- wow did he ever make a comeback.. I loved his performance tonight and was glad he had a second chance
David Cook - now that's a rocker
David Hernandez- he was excellent tonight
and the best in my opinion was
David Archuleta - Paula was crying, I was crying.. it was a tearfest.. that kid gave me goosebumps.. when he's singing he's amazing and so mature and when he's done he's a giddy kid again and to me that's great.

The day after...the two performances that make me wanna say bye bye bye are Jason Yager and Luke Menard. Sadly, it won't be my votes that help that along. I am watching the show at off times via DVR.

david archuleta...oh my god. just amazing. can we just give him the title of american idol right now?
