I cheated this year and snooped around my forum for spoilers, I've known the top 24 since Monday. I'm not as bummed as I thought I would be, knowing ahead of time.

Now, let's all just vote for Michael Lee Johns okay? LOL Nice try huh?

Jennifer, I created a Blogger acct. just to comment here! I love your "work" so much!

I can't wait for the make overs. A few of the guys look kind of grubby, I'm hoping it was just the stress of Hollywood week.

Its too early for me to pick a favorite. Time will tell.

Early favorites for me: Aussie guy, Long blonde haired guy with the bandana, blonde girl that sounds like carly simon and the rocker nure. Those of course could change. I can't wait for next week. I think this will be a realy good season. The talent seems very sharp and the kids seem more mature and professional. I'm sad that the "politician" didn't make it. I wanted to see how he would do.

Hi Jennifer -

Love your blog. I missed it in the off season. Just a note to check your link to Musebay... I didn't like it at all. I don't believe it is what you intended.

Be well and keep up the great writing.

What I love about this year's top 24 is that there are more of each genre represented. We have the rockers, the country folk, the R&B'ers, and the pure pop people. Oh, and let's not forget the heartthrobs. It's going to be fun to watch who floats to the top in each of their genres, and which genre tops out overall!

woohoooooo!!!

Doesn't change the fact that the producers don't have a problem with her being there. Good thing for her Simon back in Season 5 said she was the best audition in all 5 seasons.

I'm well aware of the fact that some people are petty and will go out of there way to knock down any threat to their favorites....life would be boring if people didn't fight for what they believe in...doesn't mean I have to agree with it.

Jordin probably didn't need the show to get a record deal. From what I can recall, she already had recorded songs with someone which to me is the same thing. Who cares if they will flop afterwards....the producers only care about having a #1 hit show.

@Sunshine:

To post a link, you need to use the a href tag.

Use the < character in place of the [

The code is [a href="http://yourlinkhere.com"]the text you want to appear[/a].

So to post a link to my own blog, I'd put the code in like this:

[a href="http://highlorddave.blogspot.com"]Read my blog[/a]

Just remember to use the "greater than" and "less than" characters in place of the brackets.

Doing so yields a link that looks like this:

Read my blog

Hope that helps.

Sorry to highjack the comment section here, Jennifer (but did you like the shameless plug of my blog.

Slim reported on this several weeks ago...

Here is his link to her video:

Apparently she was signed and recorded but she never took off. It seems that Idol looks on this as their advantage.

The rules state that you can't currently be under contract so technically, people who already have CDs out (either as solo artists or part of a group) are within their rights to try out for the show.

However, I think it does kind of besmirch the spirit of the show which is to showcase undiscovered talent. Still, I don't blame the singers for being on the show; I blame Fox/19E for letting them through.

Well if that's the case, then Melinda should have never been allowed to try out. She sang back up for established singers and they never helped her out? Why?
