So whats going to happen now. If Frenchie was booted for her topless pictures I would think the same will happen to Antonella. They can't play favorites. OR.....
Maybe she was set up by AI, they could of known about the pictures, played up the BFF's thing to put a little more drama in the show. Like we need it. dk / Dori
Remember, first and foremost, this is reality tv!!! AI may choose to show a kinder, gentler side and let this slide. I just don't think Antonella will make the top 12 anyway. So, in two weeks or less she'll be gone. Frenchie had the talent to go deep into the competition.
The big difference between the Frenchie photos and these are that Frenchie was paid to pose for them and didn't tell the producers ahead of time. Antonella was just stupid to allow herself to be photographed, and was probably too dumb to realize that her "friends" would release them to the universe.
I really doubt that she'll be disqualified (but not surprised if she is). I bet that she'll get booted next week though, whether she has the lowest amount of votes or not. Will be an interesting time to keep track of DialIdol.

I posted it earlier, and I will post it again: So what? The original set of pictures are pretty tame. (What college girl HASN'T found herself in a position to pose for such photos?)

The picture "controversy" is a complete non-issue.
It may be a non-issue to many, but if FOX even catches a whiff of damage to its "family-friendly" reputation, it will be a big issue.

Remember, this is the network that brought us Temptation Island, The Littlest Groom and My Big, Fat, Obnoxious Fiancee.
If there is a tasteless network out there, it's Fox.
In the past, they've forgiven sins, but always when the singer has disclosed it in advance and seems contrite. When you omit something that may come back and bit them later or lied about something, that's when the hammer has fallen.
I'm not familiar enough with the photos/videos (maybe I should do some "research" . . .), but from what I've heard, my impression is that someone has released some candid photos/videos that were taken and they weren't done for profit. In a perverse way, this could actually help Antonella because it gets her name out there (free publicity is better than no publicity) and may keep her around in a field of girls where she is definitely third-tier.
My hubby and I couldn't believe Ms. Barba didn't get the boot this week, BEFORE we knew anything about this latest "scandal". It's a singing *talent* competition and it's doubtful would have lasted another week based on that fact alone.
Well if AI didn't know about it they sure do now. It will be interesting to see what they do.
Okay, Dave. I guess I should have said Freemantle or Nigel or whatever. I meant the show, of course, not the network. (Sorry, I'm preparing for an ice storm, and the last storm knocked out power here for 5 days, so Antonella's not high on my priority list right now.)
Personally I don't care about the photos. Girl can't sing. That's the bottom line. So if she gets booted next week or before, it's not like she deserves to be in the finals anyway. So this is another difference between this episode and the Frenchie photo disaster. Losing Frenchie altered the entire competition. Antonella will be barely a blip.
Your right Jennifer, Antonella isn't going to make it to the final, shes not good enough. If she goes this week or next it won't make a difference in the out come of the show.

I think the difference between some of the things we've done in high school and college (which for me is over a decade ago) is that not everyone had a cameraphone that took pictures and video and there was no MySpace or Facebook to let the world know.
Sure, my friends might find some stuff out, but now everyone knows about every thing. This should provide a good warning to all young folks that "harmless" stupid things you do with your buds can affect your future in a serious way.

chipperprime: and I'LL say it again, not every American co-ed does stupid stuff, whether alcohol is involved or not. I was young and in college not that long ago and I can honestly say I NEVER did anything like that! Whether the opportunity presented itself or not.
Young, beautiful and in college doesn't necessarily equal sleazy. I, too, have seen the pictures and they show an underage girl drinking and being more than a bit provocative. Not my idea of an Idol.
I think the thing that might do her in, if any of this does, is the collection of photos taken on the WWII Memorial. Even folks I've read that weren't phased by the BJ photos are outraged over the desecration of any of the memorials, and that one in particular.
I've not see all of the photos, however, it appears that there are multiple incidents, in multiple locations, with multiple participants. This indicates that there is a pattern and history of inappropriate behavior. AI is not interested in this type of ongoing problem. Antonella will be gone before the final 12.
It is a shame that some will blame the incidents on her departure and not the fact that she cannot sing in the same league with the others.
Not all of these photos are candids. Many are staged, revealing photos. And the WWII ones are definitely the worst. Why would you want to pose like that at a war memorial? Stupid stupid stupid.

We all know she can't sing, and if I was her mother, she wouldn't be able to sit down for a week after I saw those photos. It's one thing kicking a black woman out for racy photos, but I doubt whitebread FOX will show an even hand and do the same with this no-talent wretch. She got this far on her looks, and the American people are too smart to confuse that with talent. Even the hormonal teeny bopper boys can't save this loser. I say give her the boot, and pronto!
PS Not EVERY college girl poses for pictures like that, some are not that desperate for the attention. If I was part of her family, I would be appalled.

I am convinced now that the sexual photos are not Antonella. Additional pictures have surfaced that make it clear the woman performing, the, uhh, "act" is not her. The other photos, however, seem to be quite genuine.
The depths of some people's needs to hurt others constantly amazes me.

What if the joke is on us? What if, in the grand scheme of things, Antonella's goal is modeling? Let's face it, she is "drop-dead" georgous, and she can sing just well enough to get into the top twenty-four (she's still the second worst of what's left). This gives her plenty of face time on national tv, and the fifteen minutes of fame necessary to become enouogh of a celebrity to rise above the rest of the pack. Unfortunately, the world is full of Anna-Hichole wanna be's and Antonella could be the next in line. This could get her swim-suit gigs, parts in B-movies (Porky's VIII, Police Academy XXII), with all of the fame and fortune that she wants. Maybe she's using AI and not the other way around. Just a thought.
