It's no telling what we're going to hear tonight, as the theme is "top downloads." At least for those who want the kids singing from the century we're actually in, it's good news. For those who prefer the good old days of Big Band, well, maybe next week.
No word yet that I've seen on who, if anybody, is mentoring the kids, but tomorrow's results show returning alum is scheduled to be David Cook.
I will share my thoughts on the performances, of course, but not tonight. Tomorrow. But I plan to be ready to watch Cookie sing his new song and see if Megan or Scott will fall victim to the ninth-place curse or if we're gonna be surprised.
In the meantime, burn up the comment thread with all of your thoughts as the final nine take the stage. After the judges' introductions, of course, because, as we've come to find out, it is all about them this year.

according to a spoiler site, Allison will be singing "Don't Speak" by No Doubt; anoop will sing "caught up" by usher; and Danny will sing something called "what hurts the most."....

"What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts? Oh yay! Good song for Danny. And I'm guessing he chose that song because his grandfather just died last week. Danny flew home over the weekend to attend the funeral. So sad for him with all the personal loss he's endured this past year. But that's not why I will vote for him. I'll vote for him because I love his voice and would buy his CD.
Anyway, my condolences to Danny G. Go out there and sing your heart out.
Do you think they'll milk the "Danny's grandfather just died" angle like they did the "Danny's wife just died"?
I'm not encouraged about hearing "contemporary" music if Megan is singing Bob Marley.
Sorry about his grandfather, but I LOVED him. So far he is the only one that really did well. Scott wasn't bad, but it doesn't look like a great week except for him so far!

Wish they could do away with 5 of the contestants tonight. With the choices of songs they should have had last night, the show should have been much, much better, but it wasn't. I do enjoy waiting to see and hear what Adam has to bring to the stage though.
It was a yawningly boring evening. I spent most of it texting my son!!

All in all a disappointing night. Megan has risked her success time and time again by choosing the wrong song!! It seems to me that when a contestant says they're singing one of their all time favorite songs they generally blow it!!

Anoop, Lil and Megan all suffer from the same complete inability to choose the right song...they need help! Then again, I don't think ANY song would be right for Megan...
I do not get why all the love for Danny. He's good but not great, just kind of boring and fake. Remember how Elliot Yamin could sing anything and just grab you by the heart? Danny, while technically good, never makes that kind of emotional connection...
Megan was terrible! I just don't believe she has gotten as far as she has. I hope she leaves tonight, but her fans VFTW may keep her another week. That sucks!
I agree that Danny's good but he's not great. I think in the beginning they played the dead wife card so much, everyones heart just went out to him. Its a terrible thing to have to go through, but it no reason to have him win Idol.
