in case you missed them...
Elliott Yamin made the rounds of the NYC shows Thursday, appearing on Regis (Vince Vaughn) and Kelly, followed by Fox's Dayside (didn't know there was such a show until this week) and later with Rita Cosby, with various radio stops along the way.
If you missed him on Vince and Kelly, you can catch his performance of Moody's here, but please, ignore (if you can) the pianist who, it seems, was given the wrong sheet music. (And if you want an up-close-and-personal account of Elliott's encounter with his fans, don't miss Rickey's, complete with photos.)
If I find clips of the other visits, I'll certainly pass them along.
Meanwhile, Taylor and Katharine were showing up on the Today show, now not-starring Katie Couric. Their interview can be seen here. And the music is here.
And remember, Taylor is a guest with Ellen DeGeneres today and, thanks to Marshall in the comments, we get a scoop: Taylor will be performing at the meeting of Wal-Mart shareholders this morning at around 10:15 eastern, and we can watch live. But if we can't watch live, his performance will be online around 2 p.m. eastern here.
Thanks for the scoop, Marshall!

What WAS that pianist playing?? It didn't seem to fit at all! Major props to my man Elliot for staying on key and "working it out" as randy would say.
my thoughts exactly! whatever the pianist was playing sounded like a completely different song. But Elliott sounded fantastic as always! I cannot wait for the tour. Is it July yet?
In defense of my fellow pianist: he was playing Moody's in a very jazzy, "abstract" way - nothing wrong with that in the context of this song and with this singer. Just like someone accompanying a great jazz saxaphone player. You don't play the melody and double up on the same notes - unless you're playing in a sort of "call and response" or even an intentional doubling style for a while rather than accompanying the solo instrument.

I just saw Taylor on Ellen. He was fantastic. I wish he would play his harmonica also. I can't wait for the tour in Cleveland.
I understand jazz piano but that just sounded odd, sorry. To me it detracted from Elliot.
I have to agree with -L on this one... the piano sounded just right to me. It was an interesting backdrop but didn't detract whatsoever from Elliot's perfect vocals. *sigh* I love that little guy!
And I [heart] -L ;)
