finale news...

Burt Bacharach will, apparently, be central in a group medley, it's being reported.

Dionne Warwick is slated to perform That's What Friends Are For, but as only part of an Ode to Bacharach,
TMZ says, including Kevin Covais singing What's New Pussycat (awww) and Bucky Covington performing Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (awww, again.)

Plus it's being reported that Paris Bennett will duet with Al Jarreau and that yes, Clay Aiken will perform. (Aiken as been said to be anywhere from "part of the audience" to "performer" for Wednesday's show.)

Does anyone have any idea why they're stretching what should be a 5 minutes results show in to two freakin' hours?

Sure! Cause people like me will eat it up like the Velveeta it is and they can charge 1.5 mill per commercial. :D I LOVE the finale! My blood sugar rises, but it's all good.

Yeah! I say let's skip this Tuesday show, call it a tie and move straight to Wednesday!

A tie sounds good to me! Can we include Elliott and make it a three-way tie??

from mj's blog:

From the Doc and Johnny show here is a clip of Katharine and Taylor performing "Time of my Life", the Jennifer Warnes/Bill Medley tune from Dirty Dancing. Apparently, they will perform this song tonight--but that's according to the DJs who don't exactly come off as a brain trust. The duet could be part of tomorrows finale. There's also an interview with Simon Cowell from this morning posted on the site.
