double the phone lines, double your fun...

Looks like we're gonna get two phone lines per kid beginning tonight. I don't recall them doubling the numbers at six before, but, if comments and tagboard complaints are any indication, it's coming none too soon.

And, Elvis is making a comeback! That and other juicy stuff has been revealed by Ken Warwick, here.

I'm working on those spoilers, but, so far, I've read about 15 song selections for each of the kids, so none of them feel valid enough to pass along. We do know, however, that one of the kids will sing a David Foster song, as Foster joined Bocelli in working with the final six and their selections. Problem is, we don't know the kid.

I put together a list of what songs I think the contestants should sing tonight. NONE of them are listed as any of the rumors, so I don't think any of my suggestions will be sung tonight. But that's ok, here they are:

Katharine: Crazy (Patsy Cline) / I Will Always Love You (Dolly Parton)

Kellie: Stand By your Man (Tammy Wynette) / Nobody Does It Better (Carly Simon)

Taylor: We've Got Tonight (Bob Seger)

Chris: Always (Bon Jovi)

Elliott: To Love Somebody (Bee Gee's) / Have I Told You Lately (Van Morrison-Rod Stewart)

Paris: A Natural Woman (Aretha Franklin)

I know there are too too many love songs to choose from but I took some of my favorites along with what genre fits the contestants' voices. Maybe we'll hear one of these. What do you think?

All I wish for tonight is that the kids sing somthing you really want to hear. That would be a nice birthday present for you! I hope you've had a very happy birthday so far today. I'll raise a glass to toast you tonight as I watch Idol!

That's the problem with this theme. There are hundreds of thousands of songs from which to choose!

Actually some of the rumors have Kellie singing I Will Always Love You, but Dolly has never cleared that song yet, so I'm not putting a lot of stock in the rumor.

Thank you Viv! This place isn't the same without my very first reader, so you need to comment more often. And I'll be toasting right along with you.

Here's hoping for a very special Elliott episode. Or Taylor episode. Either way, it will be a special gift.
