vcr alert...
After all, Dancing with the Stars, which altered its schedule to avoid such a conflict, has its first results episode at 9 p.m.
Next week Fox will be spreading marbles across the ABC dance floor and sending Sanjaya over to sing.

Jennifer I like your idea with the marbles and Sanjaya. lol Dori
While I have no doubt that Fox wants to mess with Dancing With the Stars, can they really get in all of the singing, filler, product placement, rambling, advertising and other stuff for 11 singers in 60 minutes?
Was it last year or season 4 that they ran over almost every night on both the singing show and the results show? Maybe adding 7 minutes is just acknowledging that they can't git-r-done in 60 minutes.
If they had always planned a 67-minute episode I would agree, even though a 70-minute episode makes more sense. If they hadn't moved their semi results show to 8 p.m., placing it up against Survivor, after announcing a Thursday 9 p.m. show initially, I would agree.
But they didn't...
Fox is just a big bully! It’s probably over at the CW now stealing it's lunch money! Marbles! I nearly spit out my coffee with that one!! Loved it!
I wanted to share a e-mail I sent to Ken Barnes at Idol Chatter over at USA Today:
Dear Ken,
I was reading your blog today and found this excerpt and wanted to comment,
“People are concerned that Sanjaya’s success, no matter how long it lasts, or if he wins, will tarnish Idol's reputation and be its demise. It might, but that won’t be the producers’ fault, rather the American voters who brought him victory.”
If the people over at Vote For the Worst have their way, Sanjaya will be the shows demise. The VFTW people are trying to make a mockery of this show and are succeeding.
I personally and strongly feel that Sanjaya should bow out gracefully fully knowing that he has only made it this far because of the VFTW engine and a few tweens that have voted for him. He knows he is not the best singer. In fact, I am sure he knows he is the worst. Is it really fair of him to stay on like this while truly good singers (Sabrina, Stephanie) are sent home. I can’t even imagine how the other contestants must feel knowing that they might go home prematurely because of the VFTW plan. It is not fair. I would be outraged.
What can we do? Will he win? There is a chance he might. Would that be fair? Yes and no. The Sanjaya phenomenon could ruin American Idol forever. He should step down. It’s the right thing to do.
What do you think?
Sanjaya must go home!
