here's the list...

Thanks to the sharp-eyed commenters, USA Today has the list of songs planned by tonight's Queens in waiting.

And yes, Pickler is doing Bohemian Rhapsody.

The list is an accompaniment to this article. Beware the line "countrified take on the late Freddie Mercury's melancholy solo in Bohemian Rhapsody."

Holy Mother of Queen, this episode is going to require a trip to the adult beverage vendor.

UPDATE: The Stone Cold Queen Classics website has been updated to include the song list, with a couple of variations from the USA Today songlist. Most suspect that the USA Today list is the most recent and correct, as Mandisa was originally scheduled to sing the song now attributed to Katharine. But this could point to a possible singing order.

UPDATE to the UPDATE: The list has now been edited.

For the love of all that is good and holy, who allowed Pickles to snag Bohemian Rhapsody?! Do they draw straws, or what? This is gonna be frightening.

I'll be joining you at the adult beverage cart.

I quit drinking over 25 years ago...but I may start again tonight.
I'm still confused about Pickles "dumb as dirt" act again. She's dumb enough to take on BoRap, but smart enough to know that cutting it down to fit into the alloted time is difficult and possibly dangerous, but too dumb to tell anyone that she doesn't want to put herself in that position. Tomorrow morning I may be singing:

Jose Cuervo you are a friend of mine.
I like to drink you with a little salt and lime.
Did I kiss all the cowgirls:
Did I dance on the bar?
Did I sart a fight?

Now wait a minute
Things don't look to familiar
Who is this cowgirl
Who's sleepin' beside me?
She awful cute, but how'd she
Get my shirt on:
I had too much Tequila last night.

Later all!!

Regarding Chris' comment about his song choice, Innuendo???

Note to Chris: There me be a very good reason they never performed that song live and that it is relatively unknown! Duh!

And Bucky's comment? Hehe!

One of these days, picking those unknown songs is gonna bite one of them in the butt. Nadia taught us that.

I want to know how Ace is going to put R&B in a song with ROCK in its title.

LOL on the Ace comment, Jennifer! Perhaps Live did a cover of Innuendo? ;) Jenna

I really hope that Paris chooses the version of "the show must go on" from the movie Moulin Rouge. It was a little more theatrical and not so blah. Bucky might just be the best one tonight because of the song he's singing. I'm really hoping for Elliott to pull back through from last week though.

My favourite quote from the article is "May and drummer Roger Taylor . . . said they initially were reticent about getting involved with a pop reality contest but were pleasantly surprised none of the finalists killed the band's songs."

Even Queen expected their songs to be butchered!!!!

The most appropos song in the Queen catalog is "Princes of the Universe". Sure the words are kind of arrogant ("I have no rival/No man can be my equal/Take me to the future of the world"), but it would be worth singing just to be able to make the "There can be only one" joke during the post-song interview time.

I think it's an absolute crime that they only get to sing for 90 seconds. That's 12 minutes of singing in the entire show. I guess the judges need 15 minutes to run their mouthes, Seacrest has to yap for another 10 minutes and that leaves room for 23 minutes of product placement and advertisements.

I think Chris should have gotten the hint from Queen that if they have never performed it live, there are probably better songs in the catalog for him ("Stone Cold Crazy", "Don't Stop Me Now" and "These Are the Days of Our Lives" come to mind).

Dave, I was thinking the exact same thing about Chris. Innuendo is a good fit for him, but sometimes there's a method to the madness, and if the group doesn't perform it live, that should scream DON'T DO IT LIVE.

And I also agree that it's inexcusable to force them to take these sometimes-epic songs and cut them to 90 seconds when there are only eight songs to be sung.

Nausea, has already set in...

No matter how badly she does, she will still be performing next week, and that's what aggravates me more than anything.

When is Katherine going to stop picking obscure songs? She is one of my favorites, but her song choices are not going to get her the votes she deserves.

Since when is "Who Wants to Live Forever" an obscure song?

Granted that it's not as well known as "Somebody to Love" or "Bohemian Rhapsody", but it's still a pretty good one and I think she'll do it well (and it's less obscure than "Innuendo").

Yeah, I think there is a lot of excitement for tonight...since we can't even fathom how it could be anything other than a disaster! How nice it would be to be pleasantly surprised, huh?
In answer to your question about how they pick these nights...I'm pretty sure they are contacted by managers of bands and artists who have albums coming out. The artist benefits from the exposure and the show benefits from getting that artist's help, promotion of the show (their fans will tune in), and use of their catalog of songs, most likely.
I'm just guessing.
Basically, they are all using each other.
Wow...less than a half hour to go!!!!

Get ready!
Get set....
