in the country...
YeeHaw! I still want Bucky to sing Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.
Song spoilers are harder to find than Osama Bin Laden, but there are two circulating out there that seem to have some credibility. But remember, most spoilers this season have proven to be false, so take them with a teaspoon of salt.
Seems Elliott just may sing If Tomorrow Never Comes, first recorded by Garth Brooks and later covered by Ronan Keating. I hope he does. Seems to be a good fit for him. And, according to a friend of a friend's cousin of Taylor's neighbor's aunt, Mr. Hicks is going for an "uptempo John Denver" tune. My hope? Thank God I'm a Country Boy. Not only is it a knee-slapping fun song, it's got Taylor's name written all over it.
And that's pretty much it for the spoilers with legs.
After last week's fiasco worthy of Hall of Shame induction, they certainly can't get any worse. In fact, I don't know that I've ever seen a week where longtime fans actually considered taking a break from the show. Country nights have usually been known for a mixture of good to ghastly, combined with the predictable Simonesque "I just don't get it" comments from the judge who just doesn't get it. (He'll do the same on Disco night.)
Who's most at risk this week? One word: Ace.
Katharine, who shared bottom two honors with Lisa last week, will probably get the biggest surge of support from all those fans out there who thought, mistakenly, that their girl was safe, much like the Bo fans did when their (our) boy found himself in the same position last season, Fantasia the season before, Ruben the season before that.
Bucky, the perennial in-trouble contestant, will be in his element this week, but considering virtually every performance has been a country one for the guy, getting his theme-of-choice might not advantage him as much as is expected.
Ace, on the other hand, has been losing his base steadily, due to consistently bad performances. He continues to rely on the camera seduction as opposed to the vocal performance, and it's getting beyond tiresome. I predicted he would get booted last week. I'm sticking with that this week as well.
So...who's your pick to leave? Not who you want, that's tomorrow, but who you think.

I agree with you Jennifer. Ace's card may be flipped over and we may get some Paula tears. Although I don't expect Bucky to do any better than he has in the weeks that have past, he's got a strong fan base and probably will be around yet another week. I hope our friend Elliot doesn't find himself out this week. I'd like to see Paris visit the bottom three or :gasp: Kellie? But I doubt I will get that wish. I have a feeling unless there is an over the top performance by Mandisa she might find herself there with the press that's floating around. Who knows what game the producers will play with us this week, my dial finger will remain Elliott's. < wink > I am sure gonna miss seeing Ace's hot brother every week, lol.
LOL Maggie, that's why I refuse today to pick three. I think Ace has a target the size of Texas on him, but the other two are open and up for grabs for whoever tanks.
I agree with you that Bucky has a ton more support than people are giving him credit for. There is a reason, after all, that he did not hit the stage last Wednesday. Other than Chris, Taylor and at this point, Pickler, it's open season.
i agree. Ace will have trouble this week, although i'm kind of rooting for him, because i think that singing Queen next week would be a great opportunity for him. Out of those left, i think that Ace is possibly best suited to sing Queen with his light, sly voice and the sexual energy he puts into his songs. so with next week in mind, i'm hoping Ace makes it through. after that, i don't care when he leaves. he's not my favorite.
I personally hope that bucky and kellie both find themselves in the bottom 3, because it's their genre of choice.
LOL I know what you mean about the country specialists being out-countried by the others. Pickler in the bottom, fine by me. But I kinda want Bucky to shine tonight, only because so many people don't give him much credit.
I think Bucky is probably a great guy, but i think that he doesnt have the singing chops of everyone else. i cant believe the judges are so easy on him every week.
I say Ace should let hot!brother sing for him. ;)
And poor Bucky - I like him, but I just don't think he has what it takes for Idol. I'd like to see him get in the studio and make a country album though - he'd have more time to pick great songs and those fabulous sound guys to help him out. :P
Hey, Jennifer. I haven't been here in ages. I've never really cared for Ace, so I wouldn't mind if he left this week. So far this season, i really like Elliot. I hope he picks the right song this week.
Ace. Don't want him to go, but it's his time.
~V~
Regarding Taylor's song choice, Ray Charles did cover Take Me Home Country Road, so I kind of wonder if that might be his pick.
Ray Charles did that?? Well, at least John Denver didn't have that many uptempo songs, so it does narrow the choices somewhat.
Loooove Elliot,If he made a CD I would buy it now. Ace needs to stop looking at himself in the camera, he's been off key an awful lot. Kellie is so boring, and what's with the dumb stuff? Even gives blonds a bad name!! Taylor is so overrated!! Sounds like a poor mans Joe Cocker, haven't found what it is that everyone likes so much. Chris needs to lighten up and at least look like he's enjoying what he does. Bucky should have gone long ago, always off tune and can't understand his words. Paris is so full of her custsie self, I'm surprised her head doesn't explode from being so full of herself, worse part is she doesn't sing that bad, can't stand it when she talks, Kellie either. Katherine had a real good voice, not much fashion sense, but acts like a flake.
