please please me...

With less than 24 hours before the launch of season six, we're learning bits and pieces of what's planned for when we've left the delusional wannabe singers behind and gotten into live competition.

And all indications, if
USA Today is on the mark, are that yes, there will be a Beatles night, after years of trying to coax the owners of the Beatles catalog into permission. The closest Idol has come to the Fab Four was a Lennon song and a McCartney song in the season two finale and a George Harrison song last year.

Hey Jude, I just wanna hold your hand like yesterday!

And, according to executive producer Ken Warwick, a star-studded halftime show is in the works at final six time in April. Personally, I hope the stars are Idol stars, but he's not saying.

Are you ready?

I could do with fewer bad auditions and a little less hell week. I definitely want to see real guest judges (Gene Simmons was the best so far)and bring back the "wild-cards". That would be those who were eliminated in the final 24, but at least one or two of each were probably better than someone in the final 12. Last year there were at least two guys that were better than Charlie Brown.

Yes I agree - bring on the quality competitors and stop wasting our time with lame entertainment. Having said this - am looking forward to the start of the season. To add more social fun to the show I've found a site that is like Fantasty Football for reality shows. It is called www.tvvoting.com and lets groups of friends start a page and compete against each other to see who will be voted off each week. Sounds like excellent fun to keep the entertainment alive!
Happy Idol viewing!
