dealings, dealings...

Of course Taylor Hicks was officially signed by RCA Music Group last week, as was expected, and Katharine McPhee will, undoubtedly, do the same soon, but now it's being reported that Chris Daughtry and Ace Young are being pursued by the Clive Davis label.

And while it seems RCA will pass on its Elliott Yamin option, looks like he's being wooed by a top-level management firm, the same people who represent Kelly Clarkson.

And speaking of Elliott, next week's edition of TV Guide gives him a two-page spread. Maybe that will make up for him being one of the two final sixers omitted (the other was Paris Bennett) in the magazine about a month ago. Or maybe not.

Yippee for Elliot!
I would buy that CD no matter who represents him - What is the name of Kelly's firm? They obviously do a great job

isn't Kelly's management firm actually called "The Firm"?

I really really hope they take on Elliot.

LOL Yes, "The Firm" is the name of the firm that manages Kelly Clarkson. Very succinct name, me thinks. And really it wasn't until she left 19E and signed with them and made that second album that she became a "star." If this is true, and they're wanting to sign Elliott, he's gonna get a better deal than any of the idols signing with 19E, who essentially refused to work with Kelly and Clay. And you see what they've done with Ruben.

Clive always said he wanted to work with Chris, and also mentioned Paris, always leaving Elliott's name off his list. But the Ace thing kinda came out of nowhere.

The rumors are rampant that Universal wants Elliott in a bad way. Let's all hope that's true, because they would know what to do with Elliott.

And the TV Guide article is terrific.

Oh how I hope these rumors about Elliott are true. I have my fingers crossed. He really deserves it. I can't believe RCA passed him up in favor of Ace.
